Lost Angels Animal Rescue
Foster Home Guidelines
Thank you for inquiring about
our Foster Home Program. Following is a
list of guidelines that both our foster families and LAAR are to follow. Our most important concern is that any foster
dog(s) is/are treated as a member of your family and provided the same love and
attention as any of your own pets.
- A foster dog(s) will be crated or gated in a safe
area of the home while unattended.
However, it is up to the foster family to determine, due to the
dog’s level of socialization and non-destructive behavior, whether to keep
the dog in a crate at all times.
- No dog(s) are to be kept in a non air-conditioned
or poorly ventilated area.
- The dog(s) are to have water available to them at
all times and fed no less than twice daily.
- Dog(s) are only to be let outside in a fully
fenced yard or walked on a leash.
Dog(s) are not to be staked out or attached to a wire run in a
yard. Dogs, which are crated, should
be walked and/or exercised several times a day.
- Fostering a rescue dog can be challenging, as
their level of training is unknown.
LAAR cannot anticipate nor will be held responsible for unexpected
conduct of an animal that may result in destructive behavior and/or
temperament issues including biting.
- It is the foster family’s responsibility to
supply food and any other items of choice to make the foster dog feel
comfortable, happy and welcomed.
- The foster family is responsible to bring the dog
to any needed veterinary visits.
LAAR will cover the cost for ONLY
those visits, which have been pre-approved by a LAAR Director and provided
by one of our approved veterinarians listed below:

heartworm and flea preventative which will be provided by LAAR.
- A foster dog(s) remain(s) the property of LAAR
and is/are to be surrendered at any time upon the request of a LAAR
Director.
- A foster family may request to return a foster
dog but depending on the size, breed, temperament, and available space
with another foster, it may not be possible to accommodate the request.
- The foster family must make every effort to bring
the foster dog to each adoption event scheduled. Regular adoptions are held every
Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Petco in Carrollwood on the corner of
Fletcher and N. Dale Mabry. Advance
notice will be given for any special event that will require the foster
dog’s presence.

and have been approved by LAAR.
