Lost Angels Animal Rescue
Owner Surrender Form
We want you to be absolutely sure of your decision to give up your pet. Should you have any doubts or concerns regarding the surrender of your pet, please ask one of the LAAR (Lost Angels Animal Rescue) directors. If your pet is having behavioral problems, we can help. Please ask as we have many resources. Lost Angels reserves the right to refuse to accept any animal at any time. It is YOUR responsibility to weigh the risks and benefits to your pet when surrendering it. Lost Angels makes every effort to ensure the animals we adopt are placed, not just anywhere, but with people who will provide good care for the animal for the remainder of its life.
Once an animal has been surrendered to Lost Angels, factors that determine how long an animal will be available for adoption include but are not limited to: health and overall condition of the pet, behavioral and training history, medical issues and, most importantly, their behavior with Lost Angels. Please keep in mind that surrendered pets go through a grieving period and detachment phase. Some detach immediately and have no problems adjusting. Other pets may take weeks/months or may never detach from their owners and may then become aggressive, destructive, sick or unmanageable. The pet’s behavior while with Lost Angels is re-evaluated regularly with respect to these factors.
Because re-homing aggressive pets or pets with severe behavioral/medical problems is a liability for Lost Angels, we WILL NOT AND CANNOT place these pets.
